Insurance
Depending on your current health insurance provider or employee benefit plan, it is possible for services to be covered in full or in part. Please contact your provider to verify how your plan compensates you for psychotherapy services.
I’d recommend asking these questions to your insurance provider to help determine your benefits:
Does my health insurance plan include psychotherapy services?
Do I have a deductible? If so, what is it and have I met it yet?
Does my plan limit how many sessions per calendar year I can have? If so, what is the limit?
Do I need written approval from my primary care physician in order for services to be covered?
Payment
I accept credit cards (visa,AMEX, mastercard), e-tranfers, as forms of payment.
Cancellation Policy
If you are unable to attend a session and need to cancel your appointment, I respectfully request at least 48 hour notice. If for any reason a session is canceled less than 48 hours prior, the full fee will be charged.
Frequently Asked Questions
If you’ve been feeling overwhelmed, stuck, disconnected, or not quite like yourself, therapy can help. You don’t need to be in crisis to start. Many people come to therapy to better understand their emotions, improve relationships, heal from painful experiences, or build tools for anxiety, ADHD, or stress.
I support adults (18+) and couples navigating a wide range of concerns, including:
-
Anxiety, chronic stress, and burnout
-
Trauma, PTSD, and difficult past experiences
-
ADHD and challenges with focus, emotion regulation, or overwhelm
-
Relationship struggles (communication, conflict, trust, intimacy)
-
Life transitions, grief, self-esteem, and feeling “stuck”
-
Patterns like people-pleasing, perfectionism, or shutdown/avoidance
Depending on your goals and what feels most supportive, I may draw from:
-
EMDR
-
AEDP
-
Psychodynamic therapy
-
Somatic (body-based) approaches
-
DBT-informed skills
-
Gottman Method (couples therapy)
The first session is a chance to slow down and begin gently. We’ll talk about what brings you in, what you’ve been carrying, and what you hope will feel different. I’ll ask questions to understand your experiences and we’ll begin identifying goals, without rushing or forcing anything.
Not at all. If it helps, you can reflect on:
-
What you’d like support with right now
-
What you’ve tried already
-
What you’re hoping to feel or do differently But you can also simply show up as you are.
Most individual sessions are 50 minutes. Couples sessions are often 50–80 minutes (depending on what we agree is the best fit for your needs).
Many clients start with weekly sessions, then move to biweekly as things stabilize. Frequency depends on your goals, capacity, and what kind of support feels right.
There’s no one-size-fits-all timeline. Some people come for short-term support around a specific issue; others prefer longer-term therapy for deeper healing and pattern change. We’ll check in regularly and adjust as needed.
Many clients appreciate the flexibility of virtual therapy, and others prefer the grounding of in-person sessions. If you offer both, you can include: I offer in-person sessions in Ottawa and virtual sessions across Ontario.
Yes. Therapy is confidential, with a few legal and ethical exceptions (such as imminent risk of harm, abuse of a child/minor, or as required by law). I’ll explain confidentiality clearly in the first session so you feel informed and safe.
Receipts are provided after each session for insurance reimbursement.
I can povide direct billing for Medavie/Bluecross.
That’s very common. Starting therapy can feel vulnerable, especially if you’ve had to carry a lot on your own. We’ll go slowly, and you’re always in control of what you share. My role is to offer a steady, supportive space where you don’t have to do it alone.
