Depression

When the Weight of Depression Feels Too Much to Carry, You're Not Alone.

Living with depression can feel like moving through life with a heavy weight on your shoulders. It can drain your energy, dull your motivation, and make even the simplest tasks feel overwhelming. While it’s natural to feel sad or low at times, depression goes beyond temporary sadness; it lingers, impacting your relationships, your work, your self-worth, and your overall quality of life.

Depression becomes especially challenging when it alters the way you see yourself, others, and the world around you. You may feel stuck in negative thought patterns, overwhelmed by guilt or hopelessness, or disconnected from the things that once brought you joy. Often, people living with depression struggle in silence, feeling isolated or afraid that others won’t understand what they’re going through.

You might find yourself asking, “Why can’t I just snap out of it?” or feeling frustrated that things that once felt easy now feel impossible. Depression can be confusing and relentless, convincing you that you’re a burden, or that nothing will ever change. When in reality, healing is possible, and you don’t have to face it alone.

Depression can show up in many different ways, and may include:

  • Persistent sadness or emptiness
  • Low energy or chronic fatigue
  • Difficulty concentrating or making decisions
  • Loss of interest in activities you once enjoyed
  • Feelings of worthlessness, shame, or guilt
  • Irritability or anger
  • Sleep disturbances (either sleeping too much or too little)
  • Changes in appetite or weight
  • Thoughts of self-harm or feeling like life is no longer worth living

If you’ve been coping with your depression through isolation, emotional numbing, people-pleasing, or overworking to avoid what you’re feeling. I want you to know there are more supportive, healing ways forward. Together, we can gently explore what’s beneath the surface and begin to shift your relationship with these difficult emotions.
